THE MOST TRADITIONAL YORKSHIRE PUDDING di Sylvia Garda
The most traditional Yorkshire pudding is…Chinese! Prize winner chef Mr Tin Sung Chan, from Hong Kong produced a super pudding presented at the Great Yorkshire Pudding Contest and won! Here’s the recipe:
ingredients:half pint milk/4 eggs/ pinch of salt/dash of pepper/ half teaspoon “tai luk” (from oriental shop) half lb plain flour (sifted)
Note: In the meantime you have a nice joint of beef (or mutton if you wish) roasting, since as you know, the pudding is the ideal garnish to the traditional roast meat, plus you will need the gravy to complete the picture.
Mix all the ingredients except the flour, beating them well together,Let them stand for 15 minutes then whisk in the flour. Heat a roasting pan with drippings from the meat, then pour in the batter and put it in the scalding oven (mark 8) and leave for 20 minutes 52.2 seconds (very precise! no kidding) Bon appetit!
